How We Started
Saqi Inc. is the Largest Independent full-service ICT and Digital Media Company in Kampala and Masaka City, Uganda.
Founded in 2022 by veteran Senior Journalist, Graphic and Website Designer, Photographer, Videographer, and ICT Consultant Ssali Abdu born in Mpigi District (Ssaza Butambala).
Full Story
After completing his first degree at Kampala University Original in 2021, Ssali faced low-paying job offers, particularly after the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This led him to establish Saqi Inc. to create employment opportunities and teach practical ICT skills, particularly for university IT graduates who struggle to find work due to a lack of hands-on experience, as well as those unable to attend higher institutions but eager to learn ICT.
Through his research, Ssali discovered a significant issue in Uganda: many people were losing money due to poor computer usage and limited ICT knowledge. This prompted him to focus on educating people in practical ICT skills.
He also found that many graphic designers and photographers were disappointing clients with poor-quality work, late arrivals at events, missed deadlines, and unfinished projects.
In response, Ssali decided to expand his services to include Events photography, Videography and graphic design, ensuring timely, quality, and professional results.
Saqi Inc. offers ICT Internships centered around practical experience, addressing the gap in Uganda’s education system where theory often outweighs hands-on training.
Currently employing over 20 workers, training interns, and skilling individuals with limited funds, SAQI INC. continues to empower people and create job opportunities in the ICT and digital media sectors.
The company's Digital Command Center is located near Carlton Palace Motel, P.O Box 221118 Masaka City along Kampala -Masaka-Mbarara Highway.
